I think the officers must have been rejected both from the army and the real police departments. Notice that the student was middle eastern. Looking at the video it seems to me that the officers came pretty darn close to starting an 'unfortunate incident of student unrest' How do you taser somebody repeatedly then expect them to stand up, then taser them MORE for not standing up? And is it against the law in california to ask a cop for his name and badge number?

I can only consider two possibilities: that they were either not well trained, as in they're still ignorant of the bit where that kind of shock interfers with the basic operation of the muscles (being those nerve signals have been out-shouted by the taser-ing) OR they sadistically ordered him to get up knowing full well that he could not.

As terrible as this is, some people have yet for the scales to fall from their eyes, despite the best efforts of the hosts of the website Making Light, to where that link leads.

I have been reading 'red state' mentality comments like "the moonbat got what he dserved. He should have stood up like he was told to do." If anyone had said that drivel next to me, I might have been taken away in handcuffs. ... Probably not, more like a scathing remark about his paternity. *sigh*

So what?
Why bother?

Just drag him away. Like cops have been doing to limp protesters for 40 years now. What, they didn't get the memo? 40 years not long enough for them to learn something? If they had done that they would have been out of there before most people realized what was going on.
